MeownShine Express was a video game project I worked on for my games class while at The Centre for Digital Media. With a team of 6 people, we built, tested, and refined this game in 12 weeks. It was an excellent learning experience for everyone on the team, and we combined our skills to create something really fun.
I was part of a 2 person art team that created and drew all assets by hand. After collaborating with the team on the plot, mechanics, and flow of the game, it was fun to focus solely on the visual elements of the project and have time to just draw. I created many of the crops, bins, tables, and food elements for the game. 
I also collaborated with our Lead developer on the flow of the mini-games as well as the animations to make them more engaging. It was a very rewarding process that gave me a greater appreciation for what goes into the creation of one of my favorite hobbies.

The project started out with each of us pitching our ideas for what the game could be to the group. After voting on the strongest concept, we incorporated our favorite mechanics from everyone's pitch into a new game that represented homages to everyone's favorite genres.

About halfway through the project, after the first internal cohort playtest, we received a memo from "the marketing department" that gave us new directives that made us pivot the game design and plot.
None of us were prepared for these changes to our design in the timeframe we had left for the project, but it forced us to think creatively and hone our concept into something more engaging and exciting for everyone.
